Just when we thought that we had life under control, our 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Two years later, our son was diagnosed too. Juvenile diabetes. A chronic disease. Not caused by eating too much sugar but by their bodies no longer making its own insulin. They require lots of blood checks and insulin shots. If we do everything right, the day may still not go according to plan. Our overall theme, is that God is in control!

a medical bracelet
a need we have...is an engraved medical bracelet for out daughter. They have really cute little girl ones at www.laurenshope.com or anything else comparable. We haven't been able to set aside the money for one yet and really should have one.
I have one that looks like the Livestrong bracelet. My friend found it at a diabetes convention center and gave me one. It comes in different colors but it has the medical alert symbol and says diabetic. Not sure how you feel about that, but it's really cheap and it's the only one I'll wear!
You can find ones like Valerie is talking about at 3Dcustombands.com My son got one when he was diagnosed and wore it EVERY. DAY. for over 2 years until we got him a few new ones for xmas in different colors so now he changes them out. They are great!!! Especially for active little kids.
great suggestions. I really would like metal and engraved for her because she is only 3. any other ideas? Lauren's hope is so great too support but yes very expensive!
